Critical Ultrasound Education With Clinical Purpose
The Society of Critical and Emergency Sonography brings together clinicians, educators and healthcare teams to advance point-of-care ultrasound practice across critical care and emergency settings in Malaysia.
The Society of Critical and Emergency Sonography
- Built around practical ultrasound use in acute and critical care.
- Supports clinicians who manage time-sensitive, high-risk patients.
- Creates a national platform for training, governance and collaboration.
From a clinical tool to a national training movement
Since the advent of critical care ultrasound in the 1980s, its use has expanded rapidly across the world. For critically ill patients, ultrasound gives clinicians a ?third eye? ? improving diagnostic confidence, guiding management and reducing complications during procedures.
In Malaysia, ultrasound use in critical care and emergency medicine became more widely recognised over the last decade. Courses were conducted, including under the World Interactive Network Focused on Critical Ultrasound, and demand grew across multiple specialties managing critically ill patients.
SUCCES was formed to provide a dedicated body for education, governance and multidisciplinary development in critical and emergency sonography.
Clear priorities for safer, better ultrasound practice
Advance education and training
Improve critical care and emergency ultrasound capability through structured learning.
Support multidisciplinary discussion
Provide a platform for clinicians practicing critical and emergency sonography.
Develop learners and clinicians
Support students, residents, fellows and practicing clinicians with ultrasound education.
Foster POCUS research
Encourage research that advances knowledge and application in point-of-care ultrasound.
Led by clinicians across emergency, intensive care, anaesthesia, family medicine and internal medicine
The committee reflects SUCCES Malaysia?s multidisciplinary role: practical education, clinical governance and professional development across care settings.
